LinkedIn truncates posts after the first 2-3 lines. Keep your initial hook irresistible to trigger “...see more”.

How to Write a High-Performing LinkedIn Launch Post
LinkedIn is currently one of the highest-converting B2B and SaaS distribution channels. High-performing founder posts follow a simple structure:
- 1. The High-Curiosity Hook: Your first 2 lines must trigger the reader to click “...see more”. Frame an unexpected insight, contrarian metric, or strong problem statement.
- 2. The Vulnerable Backstory: Briefly explain why existing tools failed you and what prompted you to build a better alternative.
- 3. High-Value Bullet Points: Use bullet lists to break down 3 core differentiators or lessons learned.
- 4. Link in the Comments: Putting external URLs in the post body often reduces organic reach on LinkedIn. Place your product link in the first comment and mention it in the post.
Common questions
- Why does LinkedIn collapse blank lines?
- LinkedIn's mobile app often strips consecutive blank lines unless they contain an invisible unicode character. Our 'Preserve Line Breaks' button inserts zero-width formatting characters so your spacing stays clean and scannable.
- Where does the '...see more' button appear on LinkedIn?
- On desktop feeds, LinkedIn cuts off text around 210 characters (about 3 lines). On mobile feeds, the cutoff is approximately 140 characters. If your first sentence doesn't spark curiosity, readers will simply scroll past.
- Are unicode bold and italic fonts safe to use on LinkedIn?
- Yes, when used strategically for headlines and emphasis. Don't format the entire post in bold; use it on the first line or key bullet points to create visual hierarchy.
